We conclude our final edition of the KIFL Times for this academic year with gratitude for your patience as we struggle with deadlines and publishing dates. Although we have not intentionally developed a solid mission statement, our purpose at KIFL Times on the Web was to inform and inspire our readers with stories of interest. With each edition, we have become more focused on people - people whose views, experiences, thoughts and actions affect our own thinkng and behaviour in some way.
In this edition, our feature article is a remarkable story of personal courage written by Yuichi Sonobe. We also have some in- depth interviews conducted by Ryoko Konta, our departing graduate. In her interview on the tsunami disaster, you will read how people respond and work together in times of disaster. You will also gain some insights into the philosophy of the school in the interviews with our President and Chairman. Another departing intern, Ruri Hosaka, talked to two of our well-traveled teachers. Here you will get an overview of their favourite vacation spots. Both Ruri and Ryoko are busily preparing for their post KIFL lives but they have promised to stay in touch and we hope that this is the beginning of forging links with more of our graduates.
Anna Nakazato, our resident intern for the next academic year, spent some time looking at how the Information Technology Department helps our students develop practical skills they can take into the work place after they graduate. Anna also managed to catch up with one of our graduates who is presently experiencing the pressures o. her first months in the work place. We also met with some of our very talented students. You may recognize their names from the performances they gave at the festivals or winter live show and finally, you will read how Yukichi Takaura plans to organize a music festival in the coming months.
To all the graduates of 2005, we hope that the lessons and experiences you had at KIFL will become part of the materials you use to start a foundation of wisdom and knowledge for your futures. Congratulations to all of you from the staff at KIFL Times.
